Experts interviewed by the paper do no expect sudden changes in Russo-Polish relations. There is, however, some uncertainty regarding relations between Poland under Komorovsky and Saakashvili's Georgia: two years ago, at the time of the Russo-Georgian war, President Kachinsky expressed support for Georgia. But the conditions for stronger political and commercial ties between Warsaw and Tblisi appear to be lacking. As for Ukraine, the Poles will wait and see where Yanukovich's review of the Russo-Polish report by his predecessor, Yushchenko, will lead. At any rate, it is likely that Komorovsky will undertake new steps in the EU's eastern policy, whose presidency it will take over in the second half of 2011. For now, the new president has only said that Poland “is part of the EU, not the USA”. It is likely that Komorovsky and Tusk will push ahead with their country's integration in Europe. Now the party to which the two men belong is facing a test with local elections in a few months and parliamentary elections next year. The Kachinsky party is already on the move.
