Francesco Benvenuti is Full Professor of the History and Institutions of Eastern Europe at the Faculty of Heritage Conservation of the University of Bologna, Ravenna campus.

His recent publications include: Storia della Russia contemporanea (1853-1996), Roma-Bari, Laterza, 1999; La Russia dopo l’Urss. Dal 1985 a oggi, Rome, Carocci, 2007.
